Support James on His Journey to Recovery

UPDATE #3: James has been home now for almost 3 months and is learning how to adjust to his new norm. He is getting around pretty good around the house with the assistance of crutches. The bathroom remodel is almost complete, which the family cannot wait to have another bathroom to use. He still is not back to work, or able to drive (needs to get a hand controlled car and learn how to drive it). However, he is trying to do what seems normal. Some days are good and some days are bad. Thank you to the many people who have donated, called, and shown their love, they feel it all the time!!
UPDATE #2: James has been home for a week now and is slowly adjusting to new life at home, and so is his family. They are learning how their new morning and evening routines will work and all of the kids are pitching in to help. He still has to go to PT to work on his right leg and getting feeling and movement back, as well as many doctors visits. I think he is kind of going stir crazy being cooped up in the house, and hopefully that will change and he can get out more once everyone is use to how that is going to look. Still praising the little steps and James is trying to find the positive daily. They are so appreciative and overwhelmed by all the donations. It constantly brings him to tears to see so many people who care. The family sends their love to all family and friends and everyone who has donated thus far!!

UPDATE: James is now officially home!! He is moving between a walker and wheelchair, still determined to walk again soon and have use of his leg. They are in the process of remodeling their bathroom to make it more accessible. They are all just happy to be home together again and to spend some much needed time together as a family.

On August 26th, my friend and neighbor, James Ford, was in a car accident in which he was unable to move both of his legs. After spinal surgery, he was able to regain movement in his left leg, but his right leg still has not regained full movement and feeling.

James has been in the hospital for a month, going through many journeys. He has had surgery for blood clots in his lungs and has spent countless hours doing physical therapy, trying to learn how to adjust and hopefully walk again. He has learned how to adapt his right leg in order to walk with the assistance of a walker, which is a great miracle, but it is also exhausting for him to walk short lengths.

James has had many people reach out, wanting to help, but didn’t really know what he needed or how they could help at the time. In speaking with James and Tori, he is tentatively scheduled to be released to go home on Thursday, September 26th. This will be a huge adjustment for James and his family, as he has four kids, ranging in ages from 16 to 6 years old. We now know more of his and his family's needs. He will still be in an electric wheelchair until full movement returns to his right leg. He will need multiple medical devices, which will put a strain on his family even more as he hasn’t been able to work and contribute to the family finances since the accident.

I ask for your help in donating to help alleviate the financial burdens of his little family. Every little bit will help with this long journey that they will be on, going towards bills and getting him the devices needed to live comfortably at home.

Thank you for your support and prayers.
