Support James Maxwell's Fight Against Brain Cancer

UPDATE 1/29/25:

Thank you for the continued support for Daddy! Since I last posted this GoFundMe, Dad has had some increased right sided weakness. The tumor has returned for a third time, and it is bigger than it has been. We plan on going to surgery again for the third time to remove it in the same spot. We also plan on changing his chemo pill and get him started on optune electrowave therapy to keep tumors at bay from returning. He will also undergo "gammaknife" stereotactic radiation, which is more pinpoint therapy he will only have to do once. We are also checking to see if he qualifies for clinical trials. This is where I feel the money may matter. Like before, if you feel inclined to donate, you are more than welcome to. Please continue to pray for us and send us love during this time. My father James Maxwell is the definition of stubborn. And by that I mean he is stubborn in fighting brain cancer, grade 4 glioblastoma. Daddy has had 2 brain surgeries. One to remove the first brain tumor, the next to remove the recurrent tumor in the same surgical area. He also has another smaller tumor closer to the center of his brain that is too close to operate. We have been treating both areas in his brain with chemo pills and radiation. The inoperable tumor has had no change since we started treatment. After his second surgery, we are now facing another round of stronger chemo pills and stronger radiation. Daddy's side effects are minimal compared to most brain cancer patients after having surgery, chemo, and radiation. He does have difficulty with using his right hand, small balance issues, and some weakness. But he has been able to get up and go where he can and spend lots of time with us girls (Mom, Cate, and me). Right now, we are taking a 2 month break from any treatment, so Daddy can regain his strength and do occupational therapy on his hand. But I cannot say this process has been easy. Daddy did have to stop working, and both he and Mom are going to numerous doctor's appointments on top of helping care for both of their elderly mothers. Mom is technically retired but still working part-time at Rose Hill School. Both my parents have worked hard to provide for my sister Cate and I, even into our adulthood. And they give so much to our friends and family within the Beech Bluff community and beyond. If you feel compelled to give, please use this gofundme to give your donation.
