Hello, my name is April Renee, and I’m raising funds for an incarcerated person named James, who will be ready for re-entry very soon. I’ve been writing with James for five years and have been honored to watch him grow and change. He is a good person and deserves a chance to be happy and to heal from severe trauma. James has found land in Oregon to live on after release, perfect for a lifelong firefighter and lover of nature. He has also found part-time work with his previous employer. However, he has little money to his name and needs help with funds for clothes, a generator, and a small trailer to put on the land. We know these are big asks, but even a small donation will help him get on his feet and live a better life.

A little about James: He is a massive fan of the outdoors and spent most of his life fighting fires. He’s a fantastic artist who has drawn beautiful landscapes and even detailed portraits of me, which is an honor. The picture for this GoFundMe was drawn by James and mailed to me last year. I treasure it. This man deserves to live out his passions and hobbies, to keep his work, and to live above the poverty line. Help us get him there!
