Support James Gillis: Replace His Stolen Bike

This donation post is extremely unfortunate and very sad to have to post in our community. A lifelong resident, James Gillis, was born and raised in Enumclaw and loves his hometown. James was born with several developmental disabilities but has always maintained a great work ethic and a powerful sense of humor. James is a high school graduate and has been working for the Enumclaw Recycling Center (Use Again Store) for the past few years. He is adored by his community, his family, and his friends, and he is a member of New Spirit Church in Enumclaw.

James is unable to drive, but he faithfully operates his bike every day, traveling to and from work in sun, rain, sleet, snow, hail—you name it, he is always on time for work. His ONLY mode of transportation and independence in his life is his motorized bicycle, which he also decorates himself for holidays.

On July 20th, 2025, James stopped at the Enumclaw Safeway to buy himself a few treats after work, and when he came out, his beloved bike that he saved up his own money for was gone. Thieves had made away with James' only way to get to work, his only way to visit his friends, his only method of getting around town without hoofing it on his feet for miles at a time.

James diligently saved for this bike while working for Enumclaw Recyclers, to the tune of OVER $2,000 for the model he loved.

We are asking for your love, support, and kind donations to please help James get back on the road, on two wheels. We would love to show James how special he is and the outpouring of grace that this community will provide.
