Hi, my name is James. I was in end-stage heart failure in 2023, had an electrical pump installed in my heart, then agreed to a heart transplant in 2024. I spent five months in the hospital because of complications with the new heart.

The new heart didn't start for four days. I was in a coma, traveling around in the darkness but was alone, while my family watched me swell up. I had to learn to walk again, but can't feel my feet and part of my legs. My kidneys failed as well. We're struggling, out of work, my wife is out of work to take care of me. I'm fighting but the bills have overrun us and I'm only asking for a tip of the iceberg to help pay for doctor bills outside of everything else.
