Support James Fight against Leukemia

On January 27, 2024, James Thornby was admitted to Mass General Hospital and was diagnosed with Leukemia.

On February 1, James begins their fight against cancer, starting with an initial round of chemotherapy. James is expected to remain at Mass General for at least a month.

I have known James for 7 years, anyone that knows James have found him to be one of the kindest, funniest, bravest, and caring individuals they have ever met. Even in the days after receiving this diagnosis, James has been positive and fearless.

James will be immunocompromised and out of work for a while, knowing that Leukemia has already prevented him from doing the things he loves is devastating to say the least.

We are hoping we can help him out financially during this stressful time by covering some expenses. Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.

As the reality of this diagnosis sets in we've been able to grasp some concept for how long the road of James' recovery will be. With every new piece of information also comes many question marks and uncertainty for what the next few weeks or years will truly look like. We do know that after the inpatient chemo he's received, comes outpatient chemo and a bone marrow transplant. In between all of these milestones of treatment are the hurdles of him being unable to work and finding a place to live that will be suitable for recovery. After much research and as the amount of testing that needs to be done everyday piles up, we've decided to raise the goal to one final number that is closer to the financial estimates of the battle against AML. We are immensely thankful for everyone's contributions and fully understand that everyone has their own financial needs to take care of as well, so hitting the “share” button or sending positive healing thoughts his way is genuinely appreciated.
