Support James Davis's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
My best friend James Davis was recently the alleged victim of a group assault. On Saturday July 13th, he was brutally attacked by multiple assailants, ending up in the hospital with a fractured skull, brain bleeding, and extensive facial and bodily trauma.
During this time he will be unable to work or contribute to his regular household duties, which include the assistance he provides to his mother and aunt with their lawn and yard maintenance, cleaning, trash removal etc. He also has a cat that he takes care of, as well as assisting his aunt with her cats.
The goal of this GoFundMe is one of compassion, to help not only James and his focus on recovery, but also to relieve some of the financial burden that his mother and aunt will inevitably have to bear. Please give what you can, even if it is just well wishes!
*The investigation into this incident is ongoing so I continue to use the word "allegedly", but the facts remain that he was in intensive hospital care and has a month or more of at-home recovery. *
As a matter of transparency, all donations received are sent to James directly. GoFundMe collects a fee of 2.9% + 30 cents per donation (roughly 60 cents for every $10). I receive $0 and have created this campaign simply because I care for my friend and believe in communal generosity. Please give what you can, share the message to others, or leave a positive comment.
Violence is never the answer, and national hotlines can help connect victims, survivors, and their support networks connect with local resources.
