*Note: If you donate, be aware of Tip to gofundme Item on donation page. It's optional. Manually set to Zero, if desired.
My name is James. I've been a volunteer safety monitor, at 16th/Valencia Sts., in the SF Mission District, since 2019, 7 days a week.
My sister (Maj. Patricia Leonard, ret'd) was helping me with $200/mo. until, sadly she passed away in Jan 2025.
Now, I'm struggling. I lost sight in one eye due to 3 years of continuous sleep deprivation in my SRO Hotel, during covid.
I need help until I can find a city agency/Non-profit group to fund my safety monitoring work.
I've been working for years for free, as a community service.
I can receive donations, in person at 16th/Valencia Sts, 2:30p-5p daily.
Now I need help from the community. Once I meet annual limit of $2,400, I'll suspend this campaign.
Thank you for any help you may give. Bless you.
5/3/25 UPDATE:
Thank You! Your Donations, to date, have enabled me to:
• Get to work earlier on weekdays.
• Occasionally get coffees/snacks for volunteers.
• Cover rent & filters for my indoor HEPA fan.
• Buy laundry soap & air sanitizer.
• Get 3 month supply of men's 50+ vitamins & saminerals.
• Paid 3 months of mobile wifi @$10/mo.
• Purchase ginger, turmeric tea bags.
• Enabled me to print more gofundme cards, to outreach with.
• Pay my $5/mo. banking fee every month on time.
• Buy 70% cocoa for hot chocolate to increase stem cell production.
• Save money towards new glasses.
• Save money for new shoes.
Again, thank you all so much!
If the next few months' donations, are like the past two; I'll be okay this year, thanks to every one of you.
Have a great May! Even $5 donations help!
Respectfully,
s/James
