My name is James, and I’m reaching out because I’ve been diagnosed with cancer in two spots. The news has been overwhelming, not just emotionally but financially as well. Every physician’s visit comes with a co-pay, and a single night in the hospital costs hundreds of dollars. On top of that, I’m an insulin-dependent diabetic using an insulin pump, and the parts for my pump have a 20% co-pay. I already owe thousands to the company that manufactures my pump and supplies. I’ve lost my life insurance policies because I couldn’t afford the premiums anymore, and the pain from the cancer is constant.

The funds raised here will go directly toward paying my medical bills—both those I already owe and the new ones that keep coming in. I have about six different prescriptions right now, and I know there will be many more as I begin chemotherapy, radiation, and more frequent visits to my oncologists and endocrinologist. Very little of what I raise will go toward everyday expenses; my main focus is covering the mounting medical costs so I can focus on my health and recovery.
