James Brander is a hardworking 47-year-old man who was diagnosed with prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones just two days before Thanksgiving. Since his diagnosis, James has spent 24 days in the hospital and has not been able to return to work due to the severity of his illness and the pain he endures every day. Unfortunately, his job did not offer medical insurance, leaving him to pay for medication and treatments from what little savings he had. As James would say, 'I'm in a pickle of a situation.'
Despite all he is facing, James remains incredibly upbeat and positive. Every morning, he greets the day with, 'It's a beautiful day,' and when others comment on his situation, he humbly replies, 'I know there are a lot more people worse off than me. I can't even think about a child that has to go through something like this! It's always God's got me, everything is going to be alright.' James is a big brother to four siblings and a loving uncle to 20 nieces and nephews, as well as two great-nieces and two great-nephews. He has always been the kind of person who would do without so that others could have what they need. He is quiet, self-reflective, loves to read, enjoys interesting podcasts, and visits the library often. His faith and love for his family are unwavering, even as he faces this difficult diagnosis.
James's family loves him deeply and is ready to help him fight this long battle ahead. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support to help cover the costs of travel, medical supplies, medicine, and treatments. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden and allow James to focus on his recovery. Any support you can offer will make a meaningful difference in his journey. Thank you for standing with James and our family during this challenging time.
