Support James and Nick's Transplant Journey

Meet James, a loving grandpa, dad, and husband who is always there for his family and friends.

Unfortunately, Jim has been diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure, and his doctors have confirmed that a kidney transplant is essential to his survival.

The journey to needing a kidney transplant has been a lifelong struggle. Jim was born with detrimental bladder complications, which led to severe damage to his kidneys. At 6 months old he was one of the first infants fitted with a colostomy bag, which he dealt with until 2011 when he underwent a major experimental surgery to create an Indiana pouch replacing the external colostomy bag with part of his intestine. We are so thankful this surgery has been successful!

Now onto the next major hurdle: kidney failure.

While we are doing everything we can, the medical expenses and transplant-related costs have become overwhelming. We’re turning to the kindness of friends, family, and compassionate strangers to help us cover these critical costs.

These costs include the financial burden of the surgery and the post operative care; which consists of therapy, lifelong medications, 5,900 plus miles of travel in the upcoming months for post operative appointments and care.

Your generous donation will go directly toward the cost of James’ transplant surgery, medications, follow-up appointments, and recovery. Any excess donations we hope to pass along to the next family in our current situation.

His son, Nick, has stepped up and is donating one of his kidneys to save his dad’s life. In a time when finding a match can take years, we are overjoyed that Jim’s son is not only a match but also selflessly offering this precious gift.

This act of love and generosity from Nick is truly remarkable. The entire family is so thankful that Jim’s long road to finding a donor has led to this beautiful moment. With Nick’s kidney, Jim will finally get the chance for a healthier, more vibrant future. But while this match is a miracle, there are still significant medical costs ahead.
