My name is Patricia and this is my husband James. I wanted to share that James recently suffered a serious accident.

His recovery/ healing is going to be long and challenging
and will require a lot of therapy. He won't be able to go to back to work until he's released medically.
We will be facing a tough time with medical bills piling up. Your support, no matter how small, can really make a difference for our family, so if you could take a moment to click the link below to donate or share it with others, we would be incredibly grateful.

We have a 2.5-year-old son and two adult children, both of whom are autistic, who live with us. So I may have to fly family members here to help us as I can't care for our son, home and be at the hospital.

This past Wednesday, September 24, James was thrown from my son's electric scooter. He had just dropped our vehicle off to charge and was leaving the dealership. We're not sure exactly what made the scooter malfunction. However, the video footage shows him picking up a little speed (capped at 20mph) and all of a sudden, the scooter stopped and he was catapulted into a decorative boulder. He was knocked unconscious, and thanks to someone who saw him lying face down in the road, he was taken to the hospital quickly.

They also worked quickly there to scan him and found 3 brain bleeds, two above the skull and one under the skull. His right arm was broken completely in half and punctured through. The surgeon on staff at Davis hospital came in and told me they had to fly him to U of U to the Neuro ICU ASAP. It took roughly 40 mins and they had him on the helicopter and ready to fly. We reached the hospital not long after and he is still currently in the Surgical ICU. We are waiting right now for the surgery on his arm which cannot happen until his brain stops bleeding. Once cleared they will put plates and pins in his arm to reattach the bones.
The brain trauma recovery could take weeks or months.

We have been waiting over a year now for me to go back to work from injuries I received last year in July: a broken arm and a broken kneecap. Which we both work for Costco and they have been amazing working with me. I know they will work with him as well for holding his position. With all my medical bills rolling in plus this now. I honestly don't know what we are going to do. I can't resume work without having someone to care for our son and him once he's home. He has disability insurance, but that's only 60%, and our bills come out to a lot more. I am not asking for a handout, just a little help from whoever is able. Thank you all in advance and God bless you for reading this far.
