The morning of May 1st, Emily woke up to the smell of smoke. It wasn't until she saw the red and orange flicker outside the window that she realized what was going on and knew they needed to get out! Emily, James (her husband), and their son Malcolm (MJ) quickly grabbed the dog and a few items and sprinted down the stairs and out the door, a window bursting behind them due to the rising flames.

With baby #2 due in ONE WEEK, the family ran out into the pouring rain to watch their upstairs flat literally go up in smoke. Enamored by the flames and not able to truly grasp the situation, a shaking MJ exclaimed "Simba!" because it reminded him of the fire scene in the Lion King.

As of this writing, the Weber family is just five hours removed from learning that very little, if anything, in their home is salvageable after the fire. With their second son due any day now, they’re now preparing to welcome him into the world with much less to their name than they expected. And yet, with a smile, Emily confidently shared that this simply means he’ll grow up to be resilient!
