My name is Jamel Ward, and I am reaching out with humility and hope.

I have spent the last 21 years incarcerated-more than two decades separated from my daughter, my family, and the life I once knew. During that time, I also experienced one of the greatest losses of my life: the passing of my mother. Her strength, her love, and her belief in me are what kept me going through the darkest moments.
