Support Clover & Carlene's Parish in Jamaica Post Hurricane

Donation protected
You may be aware of the devastation that Hurricane Melissa caused to the island of Jamaica this past October. Our beloved innkeepers, Clover and Carlene, both hail from a parish called Hanover on the western end of the island, where many family members still live. This area was ravaged by the storm, which destroyed homes, schools, hospitals, and churches. Still today, these communities lack electricity and cell phone service, making life and communication difficult as they face the immense task of rebuilding.

Fans of Mackinac Island know well that our island and the island of Jamaica share a special bond. The Jamaican workers who arrive every season with good cheer and positive energy are a vital part of Mackinac’s fabric and culture. The Mackinac Island Community Foundation has organized relief efforts by directing donations to trusted local charities and aid organizations. To complement these efforts, Cloghaun Bed & Breakfast has created this GoFundMe page to raise funds for aid that Clover and Carlene can deliver directly to their respective communities in Hanover, Golden Grove and Rejoin.

Please know that 100% of the funds collected here will go to relief efforts in these communities, which will include gas-powered generators for electrical power, Starlink setups for Internet access and web-based communication, and bottled water. The Cloghaun Bed & Breakfast family, and especially Clover and Carlene, greatly appreciate your donations of any size. Every little bit will help. Thank you.
