Cody and Lina Gordon, owners of Leary’s Landing and Project Social in Bar Harbor, ME:
Dear friends, patrons & community,
We are asking for help for our Jamaican team members - the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa is just becoming clear to them and their families. Almost everyone will need some repairs to their property, or has a loved one who does.
Most of them have been with us for years and they are an essential part of what makes our businesses successful. Some are in the process of moving to Winter seasonal employment and some are waiting for the airport to re-open so they can fly back to their families. They are all hardworking, wonderful people who come here for the summer to work long hours just so they can support their children, partners or parents. Bar Harbor would not be the same without people like them, just like any other seasonal destination in the country wouldn’t be.
If you’ve enjoyed a meal at Project Social Kitchen & Bar or at Leary’s Landing Irish Pub this summer (or over the past few), one or more of the people we are hoping to help has likely prepared it for you with a smile.
Any amount counts. Funds received will be distributed between our 10 team members from Jamaica in support of their loved ones.
We are helping however we can, but we know that their need cannot be met by our support alone. We are grateful for your generosity and we know they will be too!
