Rebuild Hope Jamaica: Desperate Need of Building Materials
The Crisis

Hurricane Melissa has left much of Jamaica without electricity, clean water, or communication. Families are living in the dark, with no way to cook, bathe, or rebuild.

This is a serious emergency, and your help is urgently needed to prevent the spread of life-threatening diseases among the affected communities.

Right now, money can’t reach them. Power and internet outages have disrupted banks, ATMs, and mobile transfers. Even stores that could sell supplies are closed or empty.

That’s why this campaign focuses on materials instead of money — tools, lumber, roofing, generators, water filters, and other essentials that can be used immediately to rebuild homes and lives.

Why Materials Matter Most

Materials make an instant impact:

Lumber & roofing repair homes and schools torn apart by the storm.

Generators & solar lights bring light where the grid has failed.

Water filters & plumbing supplies restore access to clean water.

Cement, nails, and hammers help communities rebuild together.

Financial aid is important for later recovery, but what Jamaica needs today is physical support — not digital promises.

❤️ Who I Am — and Why This Mission Is Personal

My name is Olga Elena Bracero, founder of I.A.M.I.N. (Intervention Aimed at Meeting Immediate Needs), through our humanitarian efforts, our non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, New York, aim to supply the needs of the victims of a disastrous event, by any means necessary. While I was born in the U.S., Jamaica is also home to me and my family.

My partner, Omar Nelson, and many of my close family members and friends live in Jamaica — in the very communities now struggling to survive. Together, we’ve spent years building, cooking, and creating opportunities that strengthen local families.

Now, those same families are facing unimaginable hardship. They’ve lost their homes, schools, crops, livestock, and their access to clean water. Yet their spirit remains unbroken.

This isn’t just disaster relief — it’s family helping family. It’s community lifting community.

✊ How You Can Help

You can support this effort in two ways:

Donate funds to help purchase, ship and deliver materials directly to Jamaica.

Contribute supplies (building tools, roofing materials, generators, etc.).

Every hammer, every solar light, every donation brings Jamaica one step closer to hope and stability.
