Jalen is a computer technician.
On March 10th, 2025, 29-year-old Jalen Searcy was rear-ended on the expressway. He sustained a broken spine and spinal cord, a broken pelvis, 9 broken ribs, damage to the aortic artery, and damage to his left lung. The doctors have deemed Jalen a paraplegic and have a 99% chance that he will never walk again.
Jalen needed two surgeries to repair his spine/spinal cord and pelvis. Jalen spent 11 days in the ICU, where he was cared for successfully by the staff of Grady Hospital. Jalen was determined to get better and retain his strength. The staff noticed his determination and decided to send him to rehab, where he stayed for over a month. Jalen, with his infectious smile and personality, made a beautiful mark on the staff and was chosen to speak and encourage the student nurses from a patient standpoint.
All donations collected will be used to pay for his medical and personal bills. He has no insurance at this time, so the funds will pay for his physical therapy and a private nurse to come to his home.
