Support Jalen Robinson's Film Festival Journey
Donation protected
I’m Jalen, a 24-year-old filmmaker chasing my dream in Los Angeles. I just completed Go Tell That, a documentary about the inspiring women of the 40+ Double Dutch Club. I need your help to raise $5,000 to submit it to film festivals and host screenings nationwide. Every donation brings me closer to sharing this powerful story with the world!
I discovered my love for directing 10 years ago as a sophomore at Homewood Flossmoor High School and that passion has guided my path ever since. After graduating from Arizona State University’s Sidney Poitier New American Film School with a degree in film production in 2023, I stepped out on faith, leaving my family and support system in Chicago to move to Los Angeles and pursue my dream.
Being in LA has been both exciting and challenging. The cost of living is high, steady work in the film industry has been difficult to secure, and in my first year here I have faced devastating loss, health scares, and moments of doubt. But through it all, I continue to believe that God didn’t bring me this far to leave me so I’m not giving up on myself or my dreams!
Over the past 10 months, I’ve poured my heart and soul into creating a new documentary titled Go Tell That! The film follows the inspiring story of the 40+ Double Dutch Club. This project has been a labor of love, one I am extremely proud of and now, I need help to share it with the world.
I am raising $5,000 to:
• Submit Go Tell That to 30–40 film festivals across the globe
• Host screenings for 40+ Double Dutch Club members nationwide
• Cover festival submission fees, promotional materials, and screening costs
Why This Matters
Go Tell That is the story of a powerful movement that uplifts, empowers, and unites thousands of women over 40 across the world. By sharing it on larger platforms, we can inspire more people and continue spreading the joy and resilience of this community.
How You Can Help
Every donation brings me closer to getting this film in front of audiences worldwide. If you can’t donate, you can still support by sharing this campaign with others who believe in the power of storytelling and community.
Thank you for believing in me and for helping me pursue my dream. With your support, I can take the next step in my journey as a filmmaker and bring Go Tell That to the world!
