Hello, my name is Jaleel, I'm 25 years old and on March 20th , 2024 I was a pedestrian headed to work when I was hit by a car and severely injured. I sustained severe bruising, broken bones, and extensive road rash. The worst was that I had to have my left leg amputated above the knee. This accident was traumatic and life changing, yet I am grateful to be alive and looking forward to rehabilitation and getting back to living life, even though I know it is a long journey ahead.

I was recently released from the first rehab center and have a long road to recovery on the horizon. I would appreciate help with the many out of pocket costs and the loss of income while I cannot work. Also, in the next part of my journey, I will need to acquire handicap accessible housing, attend intensive rehab to re-learn walking, getting a prosthetic leg fitting and more. Any help either financially or with resources is greatly appreciated.

I want to tell you all not to feel sad for my circumstance but to allow my spirit to lift you up because it is going to be okay, my story will likely help someone else in the future.
