Jaleel is a 19-year-old young man with a bright future ahead of him. Just last month, his life and his family’s lives changed overnight when he was diagnosed with Early T-precursor lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of leukemia.

Since his diagnosis, Jaleel has been hospitalized at MUSC Children’s Hospital where he recently began intensive chemotherapy. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time for him and his family.

Because of his illness, Jaleel has not been able to work, and his mother, Shamekia, has had to miss work in order to be by his side throughout his hospitalization and treatments. The financial strain from lost income, medical costs, and everyday living expenses is quickly adding up.

We are asking for support from our community to help ease some of the burden on this family so they can focus on what matters most right now—Jaleel’s healing and recovery.
