I'm Justin, and I'm raising funds on behalf of Jake (the dog) and his family- Jimmy and Belinda (his people). Jake is currently in a fight for his life. Jake recently lost the use of his back legs and has gone to a series of vets to diagnose the cause. His original diagnosis pointed towards possible nerve damage, but he was just put under for a CAT scan and the results are pointing towards some sort of infection or possibly cancer. The cost of the scans and the surgery are going to reach over $10,000 on top of the vet bills they have already faced. Jake is no ordinary dog. Several years ago, Belinda started suffering from mysterious seizures, and Jake has had special training to recognize and sound the alarm if she starts to have an episode. To make matters worse, while Jake is at the vet, Belinda is currently in the hospital for up to a week as doctors try to induce a seizure so they can learn more about her condition. She has been taken off her medication, hooked up to machines and subjected to flashing lights and not allowed to sleep. Belinda is tough, she has already beaten cancer, but her health concerns leave her on a strict diet, and unable to drink any alcohol. Despite her condition, Belinda also works full time from home and has been taken online classes to get a degree in cyber security. If all that wasn't bad enough, Jimmy and Belinda had to cancel a much needed, non-refundable trip to Cancun when Jakes condition got worse.

Because of ongoing medical expenses, Jimmy and Belinda have struggled to save up enough for an unexpected vet bill over $10,000. They live in a school bus Jimmy furnished himself, and they don't own anything they can't carry with them. They would do anything to help out other people. I've seen Jimmy clock out of work to help a stranger save their grounded boat in Lake Powell, He has helped me swap an entire axle assembly in a campground parking lot, and for over a decade, he has used his life experiences to help random strangers recover from addictions and extreme depression after meeting them on Facebook, for no reason other than caring more than most people. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Jake needs a surgery, and Belinda has a steady stream of ongoing medical burdens. Jimmy and Belinda are two of the most selfless people I've ever met, and they don't deserve years of debt just to keep their family alive and healthy. Anything helps. Every person who shows them support makes the fight just a little easier.
