Hey there, as many of you may know, I've been burying my head these past few months in pre-production work for several of my peer's sophmore thesises, and as we now approach spring, I am excited to announce the production of my very own thesis film, Fortune Cookie!
Fortune Cookie is a short that I've been working on since October, and it's been the film I've been the most excited about to date. The film follows a lonely, displaced teen who works at a takeout place, who finds himself caught up in a newfound group of artists who befriended him after he miraculously saved one of the group members' lives. The film kicks off when a series of cryptic fortune cookies slowly start to consume his life, and increasingly play a role in the choices he makes, blurring the line between intuition and obsession, until he must confront whether fate is something to follow, or something to let go.
At its core, this is a film about fate and about friendship, and it's meant to be something of a coming-of-age dramedy. I have rarely been as excited to get to work on a film as I have with this one, and I've been asking for all the help I can get for the past few months, and now that includes asking for your help!
Funding for this project of mine will go directly into location costs, acting wages, and food and transport for the members of the crew, and of course, each and every donor will receive a special thank you in the credits of this film, along with a lengthy shout-out for each media post related to the film. Of Course, any funds left over will be refunded accordingly.
And for anyone who finds themselves considering donating to this project, let me assure you, from the depths of my soul, that I am many things, but wasteful is not one of them, and every donor has my personal guarantee that I intend to make the best film I possibly can with the resources I have available. Thank you for your time and your consideration, and I can't wait for you all to see what I've been working on.
