On July 23, 2025 Jake was involved in a horrific head on collision while driving home from his new job. He had to be extricated from his car and rushed to Rhode Island hospital via ambulance where he underwent surgery to stop internal bleeding. While in surgery, the surgeons ended up having to remove a part of both his small and large intestine as well as repairing both wings of his pelvis which was broken in the accident. He also sustained a broken sternum, 15 broken ribs, a broken collarbone that ended up placing his shoulder down near his ribs, and a broken wrist and fingers. There are multiple contusions and lacerations internally including on his lungs, as well as external lacerations, one going down to the bone on his hip. He is currently being held in stable condition in the trauma ICU.

Because of this devastating accident, Jake is looking at being out of work for up to a year, undergoing more surgeries to correct broken parts, and a very long road of physical therapy ahead of him.

Not being able to work while he pulls through this tragic incident is going to create immense financial strain on Jake where he will not be able to pay his mortgage and countless medical bills.

UPDATE: Jake is out of the ICU. He is still waiting for a few more surgeries to fix his shoulder and his wrist.

Medical staff has been eager to get him moving a little bit asap to avoid fluid build up, and today Jake finally was able to stand for a very short amount of time, and take a couple of slow shuffle steps.

UPDATE: Jake still has a few surgeries left to go, but he has been moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility where he will spend the rest of his recovery until he gets to finally go home.
