My Story
Hey! My name is Jake. I didn’t grow up in the easiest situation. I was in foster care when I was young, and honestly, life felt unstable. I didn’t really know what love or security looked like. But then God placed me into a Christian family through adoption. That’s when I first heard about Him, and I started to see what faith looked like lived out.
The truth is, I didn’t make it personal at first. I knew about God, I went along with church stuff, but I didn’t actually take responsibility for my faith. It wasn’t mine yet. I was just coasting on what other people believed.
As I got older, things started to change. I began to realize I couldn’t just live off of someone else’s relationship with God — I had to choose for myself. When I finally did, it was like a light turned on. I could see how God had been with me the whole time — even back in the foster system, even when I didn’t realize it. He had been writing my story all along.
Now, I’m living for Him. That doesn’t mean life is perfect — it’s not. But I’ve learned my past doesn’t define me. God does. He’s given me opportunities I never imagined: serving as a firefighter apprentice, training as an EMT, discipling youth, starting outreach projects like Samaritan Brew, and just sharing Jesus with people wherever I can.
For me, evangelism isn’t about standing on a street corner yelling. It’s about showing up. Listening. Praying for people. Being present. Letting my story and actions point to Jesus.
Why a GoFundMe?
I've planned a trip for this November to Florida to partner with my great aunt to spread the gospel to the citizens of Tampa.
Why Donate?
I’m just a guy who loves Jesus and wants to share His love with others in bold and creative ways. Currently, most of what I do comes out of my own pocket—whether it’s organizing outreach projects like Samaritan Brew (Bringing coffee to the homeless, or meeting people where they are, to give them the warm hope of coffee and Jesus), or simply serving in my city in whatever capacity I can.
Donations aren’t about me getting rich. They’re about fueling ministry. With support, I can create more outreach opportunities, provide practical help to people in need, and maybe one day take this mission on the road—traveling to share the gospel and encourage others face-to-face.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
