Many of you know my brother Jake; some of you do not. Some have faithfully walked through the ups and downs of his life, others have walked closely with my mom, and many have walked alongside Tom and me as we’ve called on Heaven on Jake’s behalf.

For those who don’t know, Jake’s health has significantly declined since November. His mobility is now severely limited, and he spends his days and nights in a large, cushioned chair with an ottoman. Because of his declining health, his income has dropped to zero, and the remaining funds in his account are nearly depleted. He has since moved in with my mom.

Mom has done all she can. She lives on a fixed income and is barely able to meet her own needs. Her savings have dwindled to a dangerously low level, leaving little to nothing for home or vehicle repairs, out-of-pocket medical expenses, and other necessities.

We are prayerfully asking you to consider helping with Jake’s medical and living expenses during this difficult season. We are actively working through the application process for disability and Medicaid, but as many of you know, we are at the mercy of the system—and praying for a miracle to speed things along.

I am currently staying in Columbiana Monday through Friday to help care for Jake and to take my mom back and forth to three medical appointments each week in Birmingham.

Any financial assistance you are able to offer my brother would be deeply and eternally appreciated as we support and love him through this season.
