Support Jake's Journey After Stroke

Hello everyone, OBX AT NIGHT, Atlantic Cab, and Bill Downing of Jake and the Gemstones and Bill and Friends, are raising funds to help Jake Merlone keep his home after having suffered a major stroke on April 15th. Jake is a local cab driver of the Outer Banks and a member of the band Jake and the Gemstones. He's been a resident of Dare County for more than 30 years and a significant part of our local music industry. Jake's income solely depends on his ability to drive and play music, and having suffered such a massive setback, he's in jeopardy of losing his residence. Jake has spent the last 2 weeks in ICU in Chesapeake, VA, on ventilation and meds to keep him under. He has undergone surgery and has made significant progress. Jake has now been moved to a step-down room and can receive visitors. Though he has lost the ability to speak and move, he is gaining some feeling back in his arms and legs and is able to speak one word with difficulty for those communicating with him. This will be a long and difficult road of recovery for Jake, and we are asking for any help you can provide. Please share even if you can't donate. Your help is greatly appreciated.
