Support Jake's Fight Against Tumor
Donation protected
Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. Jake is our adopted 10-year-old golden retriever mix, and he’s been a blessing to us since the day he came into our lives. Jake has anxiety from his previous abusive home, but we’ve seen him make a tremendous amount of progress in overcoming those traumas. He has been a true companion to his human, Peggy, who relies on his company to help continue to recover from a previous abusive relationship.
Two days ago, we noticed a sharp decline in his behavior: he’d become lethargic and was drinking much more than usual. We immediately took him to the vet and were devastated to hear that he had developed a tumor on his spleen from splenic hemangiosarcoma, which had been bleeding. The veterinarians told us that this kind of tumor will eventually rupture and cause Jake to bleed out, and it’s only a matter of time.
When we asked if it could be removed with surgery, we were again devastated when we were told it would cost $10,000 to remove the tumor. We simply don’t make the kind of money to have so much in savings. We have recently had to put down our senior pug, and to be on the brink of losing another beloved pet would be devastating.
Jake has a lot of life left in him, and the chances of success for this surgery are high. If you can donate, we’d be extremely grateful to you. Any amount helps, and if you’re unable to donate, please share this with those you know. Boosting our signal would help us make our goal tremendously.
Thank you again for your time in reading this, and for helping us get Jake healthy again.
UPDATE: Our original goal post has been moved. We have seen other specialists in our area and have been quoted for 4,600 instead of 10,000. We are now closer than ever!
