Support Jake's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Jake was born with a mutant gene disorder called FAP, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, which can cause the growth of cancerous polyps/tumors in the G.I. tract. At 16, the polyps were severe enough that he needed to have 3.5 ft of his colon removed to prevent further cancer. As of two months ago, Jake was in so much pain he went to the ER where they found a tumor the size of his thumb in his abdomen. After an appointment at the Mayo Clinic, they found the tumor to be cancerous. February 13th, 8 polyps were removed from his upper intestines and stomach and they found the cancer is localized to the rectum. He is in the process of getting an appointment with a specialist to determine if it is colon or rectal cancer and what stage it is. Surgery is currently scheduled for April 10th, but that is subject to change.

Jake is one of the kindest, most selfless people you will ever meet. When he walks in a room, you know he's going to make you smile. Even with everything going on, he is still able to make your day brighter.

This has taken a toll on Jake in every aspect of his life. He has had to take a month off of work already and will need to take off at least another month after surgery. He is keeping his spirits up by being around people he loves: his daughter, friends, and family, and has pushed through to play football like a true warrior.

Thank you for reading his story and for contributing to ease his mental and financial burdens.
