Alexander & Chris have shared almost 15 years as the owners of the beloved Jake’s Restaurants. Providing reliable employment opportunities, staunch salaried positions, supporting local agriculture (like ALL their potatoes come from a Hadley farm!), and the best brunch around, for the Amherst community previously, and the Northampton community consistently.

The pandemic was a rough reality for most restaurants. To finance government loans while maintaining salaries for many of their chefs, and staff employees throughout the pandemic years, Alexander & Chris have needed to be highly strategic, and have work tirelessly. Recently it was revealed to me that with recent months of staffing challenges, they were planning to potentially have to close down the restaurant to work nights and staff the days to perform a Jake’s systems reset.
