Support Jake Welch's Battle Against Cancer

On May 13, 2024, my nephew Jake Welch, received the unexpected diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma, suspicious for metastasis to nearby lymph nodes, spleen, and liver. Back pain and chronic fatigue had been his only symptoms. A urologist ordered further scans which revealed additional involvement in the lungs and chest lymph nodes.

On June 7th, Jake underwent radical nephrectomy at Providence in Medford. Surgery went well and pathology results are pending in two weeks, at which time he will be getting started with an oncologist for immunotherapy and further treatment.

Consequently, Jake will not be able to continue his work at the Bohemian as he focuses on healing. As the sole provider for his family, the income from his job is necessary to make ends meet for home and monthly expenses.
