Help Jake Geckle Overcome Medical Expenses and Living Expenses from brain cancer, sepsis, & lung clots.

Hello everyone, my name is Terri Ward and I am asking for your support for a dear friend during an unimaginably difficult time.

Jake is a 52-year-old husband, father, dog lover, business owner, and beloved family friend. Since the summer of 2024 he has been battling unexplained headaches, extreme fatigue, and nausea. After months of doctors appointments, then several ER visits to Blanchand Valley Hospital discovered bleeding on Jake’s brain. He was life-flighted to Toledo Hospital, where doctors performed an emergency brain surgery removing a tumor the size of a small orange- nearly 30% of his brain mass.

As Jake and his family were still grappling with this traumatic event, more devastating news came; he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Just days after his new diagnosis, Jake’s face began to swell rapidly. He was sent to the University of Michigan where doctors discovered a severe gum infection. To prevent the infection from spreading to his brain, he now faces the heart breaking necessity of having all of his teeth removed.

Moments before Jake was scheduled for discharge from the hospital, yet another crisis struck— doctors found multiple blood clots in his lungs. Instead of returning home to Ohio, Jake had to remain hospitalized in Michigan, adding another strain on him and his wife, Cindy.

With Jake owning his own business, his health crisis has put a significant strain on Jake and his wife Cindy both emotionally and financially. While Cindy is doing everything she can do to manage, she simply cannot do this alone.

Your donations will go directly towards medical expenses so Jake can receive life saving treatments and pay mounting medical bills. Additionally, donations will allow Cindy to pay overdue living expenses, and allow her to travel from their home in Ohio to be with Jake while he is in the hospital in Michigan.
