Support Jake Decker's Young Family After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Last month, my little brother Jake Decker left his rental home on the Air Force Base in Clovis, NM for a family vacation with his wife and 3 young kids. While he was gone, faulty electrical wiring caused a large house fire originating in the master bedroom and spreading outwards from there. The fire department's quick response thankfully allowed the lives of his dog and 3 cats to be saved, but unfortunately the majority of their belongings were destroyed via fire, smoke, and water damage. The fire originated from an outlet behind his bed, and the foam mattress quickly caught fire. Foam mattresses are notorious for emitting extremely toxic chemicals when burned, which spread throughout his home. Fire recovery experts have advised against attempting to recover the majority of their belongings due to absorption of this toxic smoke, even in rooms that the fire did not spread to.
Please consider helping my brother and his young family get back on their feet, as they are really struggling to support their three kids and rebuild their life. They unfortunately did not have renters insurance, so they have zero financial help to assist in offsetting the cost of the loss. The funds raised will help them begin to replace their lost belongings and regain a sense of stability for their children.
