One month ago, Jake Bruun and his loved ones received devastating news: doctors found masses in his lymph nodes, lung, stomach, and tailbone. Just a week later, Jake was diagnosed with melanoma cancer, and soon after, they learned he also had brain tumors. This week, Jake underwent brain surgery to remove the largest tumor, and we are so grateful to share that the surgery went well—he is now recovering in the ICU. Cancer treatment will begin once he recovers. Despite the challenges ahead, Jake’s family feels hopeful about his treatment and expects many more years together.
Jake is a devoted father to six children and a cherished friend to many. He has always been there for others, giving his time and support to help those in need throughout the community. Now, as he begins this long fight, he will be unable to work for a while, and the costs of surgeries, treatments, and daily living will add up quickly. The Bruun family is grateful for any prayers, good vibes, and support as they navigate this new journey. They plan to keep everyone updated through social media at @jake.crushes.cancer and appreciate every bit of encouragement and help.
If you’re able, please consider supporting Jake and his family during this difficult time. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden and allow them to focus on healing and hope.
