Support Jake and Family through Heart Surgery

On Saturday 8th August while playing for the U9 Bargara Bluebottles, Jake Bacon came off for a routine substitution. As he left the field, Jake said to me "I feel so tired" and threw himself on the ground. Jake became unresponsive. At the time, we didn't know it, but hospital tests show that Jake had symptoms of a heart attack. He was flown to Brisbane that night.

With a week in Brisbane Children's hospital, observations and tests show that Jake's Left Coronary Artery had not joined the Aorta. It was only his Right Coronary Artery feeding oxygen to his heart.

As I am writing this, Jake is undergoing major open-heart surgery to correct this. Jake will need time to heal and recuperate which means he needs to stay home and rest.

Funds donated will help Jaunita and Josh cover expenses during this time which would include loss of income, travel expenses, flights, accommodation and other unexpected costs.

If anyone knows Jake, you'll know how active he is. Not being able to run around and play sport would be quite upsetting for him. With your support, we can help Jake get back on his feet and take the stress out of income loss for Jaunita and Josh.
