In the early morning hours of January 19th, a devastating 3-alarm fire broke out in Downtown Oakland, forever changing the lives of team members at both Jaji and Parche. Many of our colleagues and their families—including 5-week-old twins—were trapped for almost an hour in smoke as firefighters worked to bring them to safety. As the flames were finally extinguished, these dedicated individuals had lost everything—homes, belongings, and the sense of security they had worked so hard to build. We are still waiting to hear back about the well-being of all those involved, and our hearts are with everyone affected.

Jaji and Parche have always been more than just restaurants; they are community hubs where our teams have poured their hearts into creating safe, welcoming, and vibrant spaces for everyone in Oakland. Now, as we wait for updates on everyone’s health and well-being, we are reaching out to our community for help. The funds raised will go directly toward helping our team members replace the essential possessions lost in the fire, giving them a chance to recover and rebuild their lives.
