Support Jai's Recovery and Keep the Lights On

Hi! I'm Jai, and shortly after Thanksgiving I suffered a manic episode that kept me out of work. The biggest symptom affecting me right now is insomnia. I cannot sleep and I submitted for FMLA and short-term disability through February to allow myself time to try medications and do therapy while keeping money in the bank to pay for bills.

The insurance hasn't paid out yet. I'm caught in the circle of "the insurer says they haven't heard from the physician who says they haven't heard from the insurer who says they haven't heard from the physician--"

I'm still not sleeping, and the bills are piling up. If the claim was paying out, I wouldn't be here. I have exhausted every meatspace resource available to me and now I'm turning to you, The Internet, for a little bit of help to see me through.

Re: The Money -- My expected payout is $500.00 every two weeks per the details in my short-term disability insurance. This fundraiser is meant to finance me at this rate for a month so insurance can catch up. Any overage will go toward replenishing savings.
