I am in need of help — in May, I was let go from a video producing/editing job due to redundancy. It had given me eight months of stability. Since then, I’ve managed to make it by paying my rent three months in advance, but the last three months have been especially difficult. I am staying positive and hopeful that stability is just over this mountain I haven’t climbed yet.

I recently found out that my roommate planned to move out at the end of our year lease. If not pushed to give a deadline, he was going to tell us a few weeks prior to our lease ending. With only 45 days left on our lease, I need to come up with $10k to find new housing as well as have food to eat.

I’ve been navigating the mental challenges of having 12+ head injuries, depression, and a life-changing event in July that changed the course of the end of the year.

I am doing my best to stay grounded and positive in a bad situation. I believe that with the right help, I can stabilize my life again. I am continuing to find work, build my business, and work hard to find clients who value my craft instead of undercutting my pay.

It’s incredibly difficult to ask for help when my pride tells me that I should already be steady at this point in my life, but I can’t let that pride stop me from asking for support. Housing and food security would give me the foundation I need to get back on my feet, focus on work, and move forward with stability.

Any help, no matter the size, would make a huge difference.
