Hey , my name is Jae’lyn Wilkins . On Monday , June 16 , 2025 . I was attacked by a black nosed pit bull at a visitors house. The dog broke out of the cage and charged at my left thigh. As I cried out for help in desperation for someone to get the animal off me the animal chewed on my leg for what felt like hours it took them 5 long minutes to finally get the animal off me from trying every possible thing they could do which led to a very gruesome scene at the end . I was rushed to Grady Hospital where they completed an operation to close my leg in two places the best that they could possibly do . I had to take multiple rounds of the strongest medication they had to keep the pain down even including Fentanyl but it wore off so fast I was in so much pain . I haven’t had the desire to look at my leg or the pictures of what happened to me till this day because everyone says it’s horrible and regardless that has gave me ptsd for life and I’m seeking to go into therapy to help me with it once I am able to get back on my feet . It has been 5 days later and I am still in endless pain , I had to return to the hospital for them to give me even stronger medication which keeps me sleep so I won’t feel as much of any pain . Another thing that sucks about this situation is how I was supposed to start a new job the next day but that happened to me which prevented everything and I feel hopeless now knowing that I still have a family to provide for and knowing that bills still don’t stop . I’m starting a GoFundMe for anyone that would be kind to help me and my family out in this time of need . I need help with my ongoing bills for the next month or two . I would be extremely blessed and thankful for anything . I know everything happens for a reason but I’m BLESSED to have my life and was able to return to my family especially knowing how everything could have went the complete opposite possibly losing my life .
