Hello everyone,
Many of you know Jaelyn, our Supergirl. She has faced more medical challenges than anyone ever should, and once again she is preparing for another heart surgery. These past few months have been incredibly heavy for Jaelyn and for her family - Misty, John, and Ady.
Jaelyn had open-heart surgery in 2012 and has lived with pacing wires ever since. In October, she was hospitalized for an abscess near those wires. Although antibiotics helped at first, the issue returned. After multiple hospital stays, CT scans, and extensive discussions with cardiology, infectious disease, and surgeons at Vanderbilt, her medical team determined that the pacing wires must be removed for her safety.
Because these wires have no blood flow, antibiotics cannot fully eliminate bacteria if it is present. While Jaelyn is currently stable, inflammation and fluid around the wires raised serious concern, and her surgery has now been moved up to December 29th.
Jaelyn has already endured so much through repeated hospitalizations, procedures, and recoveries. All we want is for this surgery to be the last surgery, for her to heal fully, and for her to finally have a long period of stability and good health.
This fundraiser is to help ease the burden on her family during this time covering travel to and from Vanderbilt, time away from work, and the many unexpected costs that come with ongoing medical care.
If you’re able to help financially, we are so grateful. If not, we ask just as sincerely for prayers, positive thoughts, and healing energy for Jaelyn and strength for her family.
Thank you for loving Jaelyn, for standing with her family, and for helping our Supergirl fight once again. ✨✨
