Support Jade’s Recovery after Brain Surgery!

Hi everyone,

 

I’m starting this fundraiser for my sister Jade who has recently had Brain Surgery after being diagnosed with a Menigioma Brain Tumour. She was diagnosed in January and is still recovering from her operation, her op took 13 hours and she was in the ICU and High Dependency ward for a week before being moved into the Neurology ward in Wollongong Hospital. She spent over a month in the hospital and for the first half and before and after her surgery was unable to have visitors due to COVID restrictions.. so she did it all on her own like the brave woman we know she is. It was hard for her and we all struggled in knowing she was unable to have the support and love of her family for such a massive operation..

 

Since coming home, Jade has had multiple issues arise due to her surgery and the effect have made it hard for her to catch a break.. she has nerve damage on the left side of her face and which resulted in her being unable to close her left eye. She had contact lenses recommended to her by an optometrist and within a couple of days she developed an ulcer on her eye that became infected. She spent some time in Sydney Eye Hospital and has had multiple procedures done on her eye and has again been away from home and it’s been difficult for Dad and Mum to travel to and from. She has had her eye stitched close since the ulcer appeared to help keep it moist.

 

All while this was happening she has made her mask and mould for Radiation Therapy to help reduce what’s left of the brain tumour, that’s will continue for 6 weeks once she begins. She has had multiple appointments with many, many specialists and they decided to start 2 weeks ago. She had one session and her mask was too tight so they had to stop to remake the mask. While she is waiting to get the mask remade… she got COVID… just when things can’t get any worse for her.. she will continue radiation when her mask is redone but as her eye is not healing she is due back in Sydney Eye Hospital again so they can help her.

 

This fundraiser will help support my sister Jade in paying some of her ongoing bills, as she is unable to work and has not been working since January. This will also help support my family with fuel, parking fees, accomodation when it is needed and help them be as close to Jade as they possibly can in this difficult time..

 

She is strong, brave and an inspiration to us all. Big or small, your donation will go a long way in support of Jade while she is being taken on this unwanted and unexpected journey.
