Support Jaden's Fight against Liver Disease

Donation protected

Hello everyone, I'm Kacie and I'm 24 years old. In January of 2024, my little brother, Jaden, went to the dermatologist for itchy skin. None of us expected them to run labs and find that he had organ failure.

Over the last seven months, Jaden has been in and out of the hospital, through various doctors, and suffered through chronic symptoms. The doctors have theorized cirrhosis, Wilsons Disease, and. We still haven't gotten exact answers, but the latest we were told was that he has some sort of liver failure and most likely will need to be put on a liver transplant list. In the beginning of July he was finally given a special Liver team. In august he was diagnosed with Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). He will need a liver transplant within the next 5-10 years. Until then, there is little they can do besides medicate him to slow the process. Unfortunately with PSC, there is a 30% chance it will return even with a new liver.

While medical bills have been manageable for now, he has slowly been struggling more and more. Jaden unfortunately has had to drop out of school and quit his job. He is currently looking for employment that fits his need, but has not found it yet.

I'm writing this and starting this GoFundMe, because if you know Jaden, you know he would never do it himself. Even when faced with the gravest of news, Jaden remains lighthearted and unable to ask for help. If you ask him why, he'll tell you someone else needs it more.

If you cannot donate to help with the ongoing medical and economic costs, we understand. We welcome any thoughts, prayers, and good words. Any support you can give right now is incredibly appreciated.

For those of you who don't know Jaden and want to know a little more, here's the rundown:

He is 22 years old and the youngest of six children, and he was born and raised in rural Alaska. He joined the army at 17 and eagerly served as a joint air fire specialist (he jumped out of planes). He was deployed to Poland and helped with aiding refugees from Ukraine. After completing active duty, he started attending school to become a Helicopter Pilot. Unfortunately, with his new found medical issues, he had to drop out of flight school and switch to Nursing. In the last two weeks, he has had to put his nursing degree on hold while his medical needs remain unknown but growing more intensive. Jaden is truly loved by everyone he meets, and treats everyone he meets the same. All I want for my brother is for him to be able to live a happy and full life. Watching him struggle both physically and financially these last few months has been a hard journey, I hope we can at least relieve his financial burdens.
