Hello Everyone,
My name is Jaden Davis, a junior English major attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. I am happy to share that I have been accepted into a summer study abroad program in Manchester, England! Throughout my time in college, the idea of participating in a program like this has been in the back of my mind, but I have been apprehensive. However, as I reach the tail end of my time in undergrad, I am resolved to make the most of every opportunity I can, no matter how nervous I may be.
On this trip, I will be participating in the University of Manchester: Faculty of Humanities International Summer School program. During my trip, I will attend academic sessions, study in the John Rylands Research Library and the Manchester Museum, and visit Manchester’s historic sites. What excites me most about this trip is the opportunity to experience my field of study in an entirely new environment and culture. I’m also eager and a little nervous to see how the food in Manchester differs from home. Pizza, wings, and deli sandwiches are on rotation for me.
As thrilled as I am about this trip, the cost is a significant financial barrier to this very special opportunity. The total cost of the trip covers tuition, and I will also have a budget for living costs, including food, airline travel, and other expenses as they arise. Any funds raised will go directly towards these expenses for my trip.
Any contribution, big or small, brings me closer to achieving my dream of studying abroad. Thank you for considering my fundraiser and for helping me take this important step in my education and personal growth. Your generosity means the world to me, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
