“Happy six weeks post pelvis reconstruction!! We’ve been home for almost three weeks now, which has made all the difference in healing. We’re so grateful to be in our house and have our family together again with Olive home too. We have the most incredible village. We’ve felt the love from all of you who love us, and even some people who love people who love us. We’re overwhelmed with the support, and say thank you from the absolute bottom of our hearts.

The day before Jaden’s accident I had a tattoo appointment booked. I love swallows and all they symbolize, and felt strongly drawn to this art. Swallows “[Have] become a cherished motif among sailors, evoking a sense of adventure, triumph, and the promise of a safe return home. This tiny avian creature, often spotted before land emerges from the horizon, has come to symbolize successful voyages, hope, and the warmth of home”. These birds became INCREDIBLY meaningful to me to have on my skin during this time. They brought me immense hope and peace. I know the timing wasn’t accidental, and the universe knew I’d need a symbol to lean on.

On behalf of our brother Jaden Jones, we, Katelyn Zohner and Sydney Saunders, are creating this GoFundMe to aid in Jaden's recovery from a motorcycle accident. Jaden is a resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

On the morning of June 25th, 2024, Jaden was driving to a work meeting on his motorcycle when an inattentive driver hit him in an intersection. He tried to swerve out of the way but ultimately collided with the vehicle, sending him flying over 100 feet in the air, landing on the asphalt.

He received medical attention quickly, but it was determined that he had broken his pelvis in several places, shattered his collar bone, fractured several ribs, bruised both lungs, and suffered internal bleeding. He was wearing the right protective gear—that he always wore—but the motorcyclist always loses in these types of accidents. His helmet cracked on impact but ultimately saved his life.

Upon getting to the hospital, it was determined that he was not stable enough for surgery, so he suffered through an agonizing 24-hour wait. The following day, he was stabilized and endured a 5-hour surgery to repair his severely broken pelvis and shattered collar bone.

The surgery went well, but the road to recovery looks bleak and overwhelming. The doctors have said that standing, sitting, bending, and lifting are out of the question for the foreseeable future. He is facing 2-3 more weeks in the hospital for in-patient rehabilitation and then several months of recovery at home.

During his recovery, he will be unable to work, which has caused moments of fear and stress for him and his wife Lauren. Jaden is known for being unbelievably kind, thoughtful, and hard working. He's worked hard for everything he has and has never accepted a handout from anyone. The idea of not being able to provide for his family is giving him unbelievable stress at this impossible time.

First, we ask for prayers on Jaden and Lauren's behalf for mental and physical strength to make it through the unpredictable road ahead. These prayers have meant so much to our family. We know God works miracles and that He will continue to show up in this story.

Lastly, we are grateful for any monetary donation that will take the financial burden off Jaden's back, so he can focus on rehabilitation and recovery.
