Hi everyone, my name is Jadea Wadsworth, and I’m a 19-year-old international student from Jamaica currently completing my first year at St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where I study Biochemistry. Before coming here, I attended Ardenne High School in Kingston, Jamaica, where I proudly served as Head Girl(2024-25), leading and representing the student body while being deeply involved in academics, leadership, and community service.

At St. John’s, I’ve worked hard to maintain a 3.8 GPA, and I will be serving as a mentor with R.I.S.E. and Project A.I.M. Mentoring, as well as a Career Peer in University Career Services. I genuinely love helping people, and these new roles are allowing me to support and guide other students while giving back to my campus community. I am also apart of Real Life, a Bible Study group, where we explore God's word and evangelize to those around us.

Throughout high school, I held leadership roles including President of the Chess Club, Captain of the School’s Challenge Quiz Team, and Project & Finance Manager in the Aspiring Medical Professionals Society. I’ve also completed over 60 hours of community service, including tutoring students and participating in environmental initiatives.

As a first-generation college student studying in the United States, this journey means everything to me and my family. While I am grateful to have received a partial scholarship, it is not enough to cover my full expenses, and I am at risk of not being able to afford my second year tuition.

My family is currently facing multiple financial pressures, including the recent passing of my grandfather and my grandmother’s declining health. Supporting me has placed a heavy strain on them.

I’ve started this GoFundMe to help cover my tuition, housing, books, and transportation so I can continue my education and stay on track toward my degree. Without support, my dream of completing my degree may not become a reality.
