Support Jade in her Cardiac recovery
Donation protected
On Tuesday, April 29th, Jade Harrison suffered a cardiac event and was transported to hospital with an irregular, and very concerning heart rhythm. She was admitted to hospital and was being monitored when she went into cardiac arrest later that day. Jade was resuscitated and transported by ambulance to a hospital specializing in advanced cardiac care, where she was placed on ECMO (heart and lung bypass). Jade was placed into a medically induced coma to allow her heart to rest. She has had many procedures while in hospital, including intubation, biopsies of the heart muscle, nerve blocks to control her episodes of v-tach, feeding tube, EEG, she has battled infection, and is being kept sedated. She requires extensive medical care with an array of specialists, a lengthy list of medications and IV's, and ongoing procedures.
The cause of this is still unknown, and could very well remain that way.
Her heart function is slowly improving and she remains on bypass for now, but there has been some improvement in her heart muscle function.
She is able to somewhat respond by nodding her head and squeezing hands.
Jade is a beloved friend, daughter, sister, niece, co-worker, and devoted dog mom to her fur baby Winnie. She enjoys knitting, crocheting, art projects, puzzles, playing D&D with her co-workers, and watching the Leafs play.
Jade is a part time employee, working as an Ambulance Communications Officer, spending her shifts helping those having medical emergencies. She is an amazing asset to our work family and a beloved member of our team. Unfortunately being part time means she is not entitled to paid sick days. She has an extremely long and complex road to recovery ahead of her, and we would like to help ease the financial strain during this time. We are asking for your assistance in helping Jade and her family through this extremely emotional time.
Please consider donating to help our girl through her recovery and send prayers to her and her family during this difficult time.
