Jada Schmidt, known as Jay Bean to many, has always been a creative force and a loving mother to her two daughters. As the owner of Jada Bean Art on Etsy, Jada has spent years sharing her art at shows, festivals, and concerts all over the area, including with the band Last Fair Deal. She’s a familiar face in the local arts and music community, always working hard and supporting her friends and family. I’ve known Jada for decades, and I can say without a doubt that she is one of the most caring and dedicated people I know. She’s always been there for others, and now she needs our help more than ever.
Two months ago, Jada was in a devastating car accident that left her with serious injuries, including traumatic brain damage. While she’s making some progress in physical therapy, the effects of her brain injury have been overwhelming. She experiences uncontrollable movements and tics that can last for hours each day, making it impossible for her to work or even drive. The pain and uncertainty have taken a toll on her, and the hardest part for Jada is feeling like she’s letting her daughters down. She hasn’t been able to celebrate the holidays or even have a birthday party for her youngest, because being around groups of people makes her symptoms worse. Missing out on these special moments with her girls has been heartbreaking.
Jada’s first appointment with a neurologist is coming up, but she still has a long road to recovery ahead. Right now, she needs help covering medical bills, therapy costs, rent, and basic support for her girls. If you’re able to contribute, your support will make a real difference for Jada and her family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
