My name is Lisa Rivera and I am the School Counselor at Pacheco Elementary. I am setting up this GoFundme for an eight grade student who is in dire need of help.
Support Jada’s Fight Against Ewing Sarcoma
Jada Ecclesfield is an incredible 8th grader from Pacheco Elementary in Shasta County. She is funny, creative, bold, and completely herself. She doesn’t just enter a room; she arrives. Her spark, humor, and fierce spirit make her unforgettable.
Jada began her journey in our district at Prairie Elementary as a first grader. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her back then will never forget her. She was spirited, expressive, and impossible to ignore in the very best way. Over the years, that same fire has grown with her.
She is still feisty and strong-willed, but now carries herself with a maturity and depth that makes you incredibly proud to watch her grow.
Recently, Jada was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Doctors performed a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis and discovered that the tumor in her pelvis is currently too large to safely remove. Jada has now begun chemotherapy treatments at UC Davis Medical Center, with the goal of shrinking the tumor to a manageable size so it can eventually be removed.
Her treatment plan requires weekly travel from Shasta County to Davis for several months, and the process could take anywhere from six months to a year.
As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned life upside down for Jada and her family.
Her dad has already missed work to be by her side through surgery, hospital stays, and now ongoing treatments. With weekly chemotherapy appointments, continued time away from work is unavoidable. The family was already navigating financial challenges before this unexpected medical crisis.
The costs are adding up quickly:
- Gas and travel expenses for weekly trips to Davis
- Possible lodging during treatment weeks
- Meals while traveling
- Lost wages
- Everyday living expenses while focusing on Jada’s care
We are asking our community to help ease this burden so Jada’s family can focus on what matters most; her healing, her strength, and her fight.
Our initial goal is $5,000 to help offset travel and living expenses during the coming months of treatment. Any amount, big or small, truly makes a difference.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to support Jada.
Jada is strong.
She is feisty.
She is deeply loved.
And she is not facing this alone.
Thank you for standing with her.
Jada's Cheer Squad:
“I still remember Jada and her Dad coming up at Prairie during the hot summer “Meet and Greet” and asking what bus she would be riding. I thought to myself, she was going to be a handful…the best handful!! I drove Jada from 1st grade until Ms. Rachel took over for me last year. Jada has made me laugh, holler, smile, think and most of all realize sometimes the handfuls are my favorites.
She would be late some mornings and I’d have to stop the bus coming back by and turn it off and go outside and “red light” her across the street. I would tell her how important it is to be out at her bus stop and ready when I go by. But she would say she was up late because she was on a call with her Dad in the tow truck. She has lots of good tow truck stories. And as she grows up, her Dad brings her to school…and in style I might add…in the tow truck!!! So it became a friendly wave from the tow truck to the big yellow bus, and some loud honking to be sure Jada heard us. I have watched Jada grow into a beautiful young lady over the years. She is a handful of beauty, spice for life, artistic, caring, outgoing, fun bus rider, tow truck front seat passenger princess kind of kid I want riding my bus.
We love you Jada and know you will be on the other side of this battle as soon as the amazing doctors can get you there. Please reach out if I can help in any way.”

"The news is heartbreaking. I was Jada's first grade teacher and your description of her stomping her way into your heart on day one was spot on! She started attending Prarie a little into her first grade year. She has always been strong willed and I am sure that will serve her well during this time. Jada holds a very special place in my heart. We spent a lot of time together in class and have always been excited to see each other as the years have passed. I saw her about a month ago and it was so good to catch up with her. It breaks my heart that shortly after this must have come to light."
