Jacques' Story

If you live in Baltimore, you know Jacques: the cutest longest shortest boy in all the land. The Mayor of Old Goucher, he's stolen hearts and street treats all over this city, brightening the days of everyone he meets.

Jacques was recently diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma, a type of cancer that, if left untreated, would give him only 1–3 months to live. Despite the diagnosis, lil Jacques is still his same happy, wiggly self, and that’s why his human, Rebekah (who's equally beloved in our community for her endless care and generosity) is working to give him the chance at more good years.

Lil J’s treatment plan includes IV chemotherapy over several cycles, with breaks in between to help him rest and recover. His doctors are optimistic that with treatment, Jacques can gain a few extra years of life, snarfing pup cups, splashing in the river, and watching Love Island on the couch with Rebekah.

The cost of treatment will be many thousands of dollars but will give Jacques the best shot possible. Donations will go directly toward offsetting his medical bills.

Jacques has always been there for us with his big smile and fetching brindle stripes, and now it's time for us to be there for him.
