Hi family,
My name is Jacqueline Villalta. I’m a mother and longtime community organizer who has spent over 13 years serving families, seniors, and people experiencing homelessness across the San Gabriel Valley and LA County through mutual aid, food distributions, and grassroots outreach. I founded Operation Healthy Hearts after experiencing homelessness myself as a young mother — because I never wanted anyone else to feel as alone or unsupported as I once did.
For more than a decade, I’ve shown up week after week for my community — often unpaid — while also raising my children and doing my best to keep our family afloat. I’ve poured my heart into making sure others had food, dignity, and support.
Right now, I’m asking for that same support for my own family.
My children and I are working toward securing stable housing. Like many families, we’re facing the steep upfront costs that come with renting: application fees, security deposits, and the first few months of rent. These barriers are overwhelming, especially while balancing parenting, health needs, and transitioning into paid work after years of volunteer service.
This GoFundMe is to help us cover:
• Rental application fees
• Security deposit
• First few months of rent
• Basic moving costs
Your support will help my children and me land somewhere safe and stable — a foundation that allows us to breathe, heal, and rebuild. Housing stability means my kids can feel secure, I can focus on employment and wellness, and our family can finally have a moment of peace.
I’ve spent years caring for others. This moment requires me to receive.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send words of encouragement, please know it means more than I can express. Every dollar, every repost, every prayer helps bring us closer to housing security.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in mutual aid. Thank you for helping my family take this next step.
With gratitude and love,
Jacqueline
